Spec Hero — Privacy Policy

1. Summary

Spec Hero helps Shopify merchants define, manage and display technical product specifications.

Specification data created with the App is written to the merchant's own Shopify store as Shopify metafields. It belongs to the merchant, remains in their store, and is not removed when the App is uninstalled.

We store a limited amount of configuration and operational data on our own servers. We do not sell personal information, we do not use merchant or customer data to train machine learning models, and we do not use it for advertising.

2. Who this policy is for

• Merchants — Shopify store owners and staff who install and use the App.
• Customers of merchants — shoppers who visit a merchant's storefront where the App displays specification tables or comparison features.

Merchants are the controllers of their customers' personal information. We act as a processor on their behalf, in line with the Shopify Partner Program Agreement and the Shopify Data Protection Addendum.

3. Information we collect from merchants

When a merchant installs the App, Shopify provides us with:

• The store's myshopify domain, shop ID, name, primary contact email, country, currency, timezone and plan.
• An access token used to call the Shopify Admin API on the store's behalf.

We store this in our database for as long as the App is installed.
